SALT & WILDFIRE
Steph Lieblappen
Salt
a taste of the ocean, cleansing body and soul, gulls in flight, waves greeting the shore
Wildfire
fierce, roaming mountains, fields, and forests, destructive, starting over

About
Steph Lieblappen, Vermont Artist
Steph currently lives with her family in Central Vermont and grew up in Rhode Island spending a significant amount of time at the beach. Her work is inspired by both locations which led to the name Salt and Wildfire.
While personal in motivation there is a level of ambiguity in Steph’s art that gives the final interpretation of each piece back to the viewer as a reflection of themselves and their experience of the world. She embraces surrealism for the ability to bend the rules of reality, combining abstract patterns with semi-realistic objects. There is often a playfulness present that lets the imagination wander as your eyes traverse the canvas. Her favorite mediums are acrylic and water color paints along with alcohol based markers. She also enjoys combining multiple mediums in a single piece to add depth and visual texture, bringing out smaller details and points of interest.
